This past weekend was beyond beautiful. Carrie and Jeremy’s celebration was filled with genuine hugs, joyful tears, and thoughtful gifts. I caught myself shedding tears right along with everyone else.

Carrie is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Florida Gulf Coast University, but she will soon be starting a new job at Florida State University. Jeremy is a sterilization technician for Arthrex, a company that specializes in the production of medical devices. Carrie and Jeremy met in '05 or '06 at the Morgantown Brewing Company in Morgantown, West Virginia. They did not date at the time, but they communicated sporadically over the years. Jeremy tracked Carrie down through Facebook, visited her in Florida in 2015, and the rest is history. Jeremy proposed on April 16, 2017 (Easter Day) in Maui. She said yes!

They chose to say their I do’s at one of the most picturesque venues I’ve seen in West Virginia called The Guesthouse in Lost River, WV, which is saying a lot, because my heart is in those hills. I love West Virginia through and through and I was surprised that I hadn’t ever heard of or visited this incredible hidden gem.  The proprietors of this beautiful venue, Jesse and Gary, truly went above and beyond to exceed expectations and make it a truly joyous event for everyone involved. They exuded warmth in their greetings and attention to details. They make sure each guests overall experience is second to none. These gentlemen have made their venue an exceptional getaway for any bride and groom looking to have a truly intimate affair.

With their help, Carrie and Jeremy were able to accomplish just that, they kept their day elegant, simple, and sweet and let the stunning scenery along with the beautiful warmth of The Guesthouse lodge speak for itself as their décor.

However, their day was not without it’s sentiments interlaced throughout. In fact, it was full of them. From handkerchiefs passed down from generation to generation, treasured lockets, gifts that were so carefully chosen you couldn’t help but hold back tears, to cake toppers from the bride’s maternal grandparent’s wedding and rings kept in the family for decades. The list truly goes on.

Their celebration was intimate, serene, and heartfelt. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family, and everyone who attended shared so much love for this couple.

Even despite a poor weather forecast calling for rain the entire weekend everyone’s spirits remained high. Carrie and Jeremy were also blessed with a beautiful break in the weather just long enough to enjoy an outdoor ceremony and it was perfect.

It was all so very perfect.

Congratulations Jeremy and Carrie, thank you both truly from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to capture your beautiful day. I hope you both enjoy St. Lucia!
